Recreational Programs
- Surf Camp: 1:1 ratio summer camp for members of Autism Society San Diego, great for teaching water safety and surfing for ages 5+.
- Camp I CAN: 1:1 ratio summer camp for members of Autism Society San Diego, held at the YMCA and includes water activities and outings
- AWARE (Adults with Autism Recreation Experience) Camp: 1:1 ratio Summer camp for members of Autism Society San Diego, for ages 18+ and incorporates outings each day
- Aquatics Programs: 12 Swim Lessons for $240 or $20/class. For members of Autism Society, you can put your child through adaptive swim lessons for a significantly discounted rate thanks to our scholarship program with Aquapros.
Social Programs
- AWARE Dance: The dance was created to allow a fun space for individuals on the spectrum to meet others and have fun. We provide a DJ, soda, and pizza. There is a $5 entry for each participant, but families and caregivers are free.
- Spectrum Social Online: Online zoom meeting where adults on the spectrum ages 18+ can talk with other individuals on the spectrum about common interests and get to know each other.
- Family Pool Party: Offered every 2nd Saturday of the month, Our Pool Parties are offered to all ages, making it great for families to attend. Held at Aquapros Swim School in Kearney Mesa, entry is free but a $5 donation is appreciated to help with food and drink costs.
There are other Recreational programs that are provided outside of the Autism Society San Diego, that can also be funded by the San Diego Regional Center. Please contact us for a list of those programs.
There are plenty of recreational activities offered in San Diego for individuals on the spectrum . Please contact us if you would like more information about a specific activity.
