Shirley is the mother of two adult sons with ASD.  She is a long time volunteer with the Autism Society San Diego and is passionate and dedicated to creating programs and services for the community.  She is a frequent lecturer on autism for medical professionals and community agencies and organizations.

Shirley works at Vista Hill Foundation in their SmartCare Behavioral Health Consultation, Parent Care and Native American SmartCare programs. with a focus on assisting primary care pediatric providers to initiate and support behavioral health services, including medication management and care coordination, for their patients.  She provide telepsychiatry consultations in real time for patients. Frequent interface with numerous community agencies who provide counseling and therapy for pediatric patients. Works collaboratively with a team of psychiatrists and behavioral health consultants. Extensive knowledge and experience working with the developmentally delayed population and autism.
